Small Fish and Low Weights Rule the Day at Long Pond Lakeville

The day started a little brisk and stayed quite chilly, with bright blue skies and a good breeze. This lake has been fishing slow this year so several of us had low expectations; I think we all knew it was not going to be another year were someone had 18+ lbs to win. In fact, it only took half that, with only 4 limits brought to the scales. It was Wade Estabrooks with 7.91 lbs who took the win. Additional congratulations go out to Bob Pickering for the days lunker @ 3.43 lbs, which netted him $70. Good job Bob. Its always nice to see the money go to someone different! Mark Donovan continued to fish hard and, with another second place finish, he is in good position to capture the Angler of the Year title. But John Shpack—with another third place finish—is right there to pounce if he faulters. Once again, the last tournament will tell the tale. To top off the day everyone who stuck around was treated to tailgate shish kabobs, courtesy of Wade. Thanks Wade and congratulations!
