Femiak Comes Out On Top Again at Lakeville

Long Pond gave most of us fits again this year with just a third of the field weighing limits and the bigger fish few and far between. The day broke clear with virtually no wind at all and stayed that way for the first few hours of the tournament. Air temps reached about 80 degrees. But by 10 a.m. the wind started blowing out of the north and put a good chop on the water. While it cooled the anglers, it didn't make the fish any less finicky. They remained picky all day and there were lots of stories of light bites, lost fish and missed hookups.

At the weigh-in 53 fish were brought to the scales and Eric came out on top, with a sack weighing 10.56 pounds and the lunker award to boot: a 3.20 pound fish. Following up were Bob Caudle in second place with 5 fish at 8.69, and Roger Bogosh in third with 5 for 7.12. Nice job guys!

The 53 fish weighed a total of 76.89 pounds, for an average of 1.45 pounds per fish.

The club was treated to a post-tournament barbecue featuring Wade as grillmaster, who put on an excellent spread: steak tip kabobs, plenty of ice cold beverages (and lots of caffeine), sweets and other snacks. Guys may have come in with room to spare in their livewell but nobody left with room in their stomach!
